Biography



Utako Endo was born in Japan.

She studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts by Prof. Kenji Watanabe. In 2018, she began her studies in Germany and completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich under Prof. Yuka Imamine, achieving the highest distinction with a perfect score of 1.0. Currently, she is studying a Master’s in Specialized Music Performance (Soloist) at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste with Prof. Till Fellner, and also in the Lied Performance program under Prof. Gerold Huber at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.

Utako Endo has been a prize-winner in both national and international competitions. She won 1st prize at the International Piano Competition in Tokyo, 5th prize at the International Piano Competition LAGNY in France, 3rd prize at the International Music Competition Paris, and was a semifinalist at the Concours International de Piano d’Épinal. She has also been awarded scholarships from the “Ezaki Scholarship” of Tokyo University of the Arts and the “Deutschen Stiftung Musikleben”. Utako Endo has performed in many concerts and given solo recitals in Japan, Germany, and Switzerland.

During her studies, she was selected as a soloist by the University (Munich) to perform with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic. She has also received chamber music lessons from Prof. Silke Avenhaus and Prof. Friedmann Berger. Additionally, she has participated in numerous masterclasses by various distinguished professors such as Eva Pobłocka, Bruno Rigutto, Piotr Paleczny, Andrea Bonatta, and Michael Schäfer.
